A night out

Have a means of getting home safely before we go out. Carry the number of a   reputable taxi or minicab company
Keep a small amount of change separate from our purse/wallet for a phone call or bus fare
Get our money out of the cashpoint during daylight hours if we planning to go out in the evening
Do not walk home alone late at night. If we do, then choose well-lit main roads and walk confidently. Never take short cuts at night
Never leave our drinks unattended (due to the risk of drink spiking)
Drink and behave responsibly. If we are driving, then our personal alcohol limit should be zero – irrespective of the law
There is safety in numbers, so go out with a group of people we trust
Call for a taxi rather than wait for a random, passing taxi to pick us up
If taking a lift or taxi, text the licence number to someone we trust.
When arriving home by car or taxi ask the driver to wait until we are inside our home.
