About Us
Started over 25 years ago and now the largest voluntary organisation nationally, Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) is a community initiative which relies on networking and alertness of neighbours. It has been shown that NHW areas are less likely to be targeted by criminals and householders can qualify for reduced Insurance premiums.
Spelthorne Neighbourhood Watch (SNHW) has over 230 co-ordinators across the borough, who administer a watch for their road. The role is not onerous and we always welcome new co-ordinators and watches so we can increase the number of homes covered (currently approx.12,500).

We are supported by Vic Smith, Surrey Police Crime Reduction Officer, and Linda Kempton, our part-time Administrator who sets up and manages new watches and generally acts as the focal point for communication of crime updates, information, materials to co-ordinators. Linda and Vic are based at the council’s offices, which ensures close contact with the police on local issues.
Periodically we organise co-ordinator get-togethers, either borough-wide or by local area. These are social events which bring these key people together to share experiences and information.
For all enquiries please contact Linda Kempton by visiting our contact page, or call 01784 446420.
Linda is part-time and works Mondays and Tuesdays so if ringing please leave a message on her answerphone. This is checked regularly.
