At the Cashpoint
Do not store PIN near our bank or credit card.
Use cashpoints during the day when people are about.
Do not count money at the cashpoint, wait until we are in a safe place.
Always shield our hand when entering our PIN, be it at the cashpoint, or in a shop. Never reveal the number. No one needs our PIN other than us.
Some offenders will pose as police or bank officials in order to gain the number.
Be aware of who is around and if we feel unsafe then it’s best to cancel the transaction, and walk away.
If there have been unfamiliar changes to the cashpoint, don’t use it – report it.
Offenders have been known to replace the front of these machines in order to
record card details and PIN codes. Run finger over the card slot, as discrete devices can be inserted in order to capture our card details.
Don’t accept help from strangers if our card is not ejected.
