How We Do It

The steering group meets every other month. Here Area Co-ordinators share feedback from the Co-ordinators about combating crime. This allows successful initiatives to be adopted across the borough.

Twice a year all Co-ordinators are invited to meet and discuss topics relevant to their members. Speakers include keynote guests, senior police representatives and senior council officers to whom members have the opportunity to put questions and seek action. The Spring meeting also incorporates our AGM.

We provide central support contact to Co-ordinators via Linda Kempton. This includes  on-going information and advice and specific warnings on criminal activity for the local area Hot Topics , and training. From time to time we arrange events, such as visiting the Surrey Crime Reporting Centre in Guildford to see what happens when we call 0845 125 2222.

We also produce a Quarterly Watchword Newsletter . This is sent to all NHW Co-ordinators to circulate to their members.
