CCTV text messaging service to help fight crime.
A mobile telephone messaging service is now available to help tackle crime in Spelthorne.
This service, the first in the country, enables residents and businesses in Spelthorne to use their mobile telephones to text an incident witnessed in the vicinity of CCTV camera’s, directly to the CCTV control room based at Runnymede.
The control room operators will receive the message and mobile telephone number and, if they are able to view the incident on camera, will record and send pictures to the Police. Any information will be forwarded to the Community Safety Team at Spelthorne Council the following working day. The text number for the service is 07766 332288.
