Setting Up A Watch
Setting up a watch.
After Linda has been contacted, the following will take place:
1. An information pack about Neighbourhood Watch is sent out to the enquirer.
2. A leaflet “Are you interested in a Neighbourhood Watch in…..” is delivered to the neighbours and reply slips are returned to the enquirer.
3. A local venue is booked for a Start up meeting by the NH Watch Office and Invitations- (provided by the Neighbourhood Watch office) are delivered to the residents by the enquirer/prospective Coordinator.
4. The meeting is held with the Local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), the Local Area Coordinator if possible and the NH Watch Administrator.
5. The New NH Watch is issued a Number and a Neighbourhood Watch Sign is put up on a prominent Lamp Post (1 or 2 signs maybe required).
6. To introduce the new coordinator and encourage neighbours to join the watch a leaflet is provided by the NHW office.
Information is sent to the Coordinator on a regular basis by email or posted on the website. Hard copies are available where necessary but we ask each watch has a contact for e-mail. Information will include crime updates, contact numbers, and local interest meeting dates. Newsletters are also mainly available electronically.
Neighbourhood Watch stickers, information booklets, marker pens for property and leaflets are provided on request by the Neighbourhood Watch office, including any additional information or help.
