What We Do
![]() |
Neighbourhood Watch helps communities counter crime and antisocial behaviour by bringing people closer together with neighbourliness.
SNHW acts as a conduit for information and advice between Surrey Police, Spelthorne Borough Council, other agencies and local residents:
- The community provides information to assist the identification and arrest of miscreants
- Police give timely warnings on local criminal activity and advice on reducing the opportunities for crime.
The steering group liaises closely with the borough Crime Reduction Advisor, sets policy direction, seeks opportunities for additional funding and decides spending priorities.
These include Publicity Materials , venue hire for new watch start-up meetings and street signs.
Although we have police, local council and some sponsorship funding, in order to expand we do need additional resources.
This year, therefore, we launched a scheme to generate funds from recycled printer cartridges and mobile phones. See Recycling Project
